Adirondacks

Basic Info:

There have been TONS of climbing in the Adirondacks over the last century, and almost none of it was bouldering.  So, the existing guidebooks contain mostly trad/toprope info. I recently purchased a copy of the latest reprint of Adirondack Rock.  It is possibly the most insanely beautiful, complete and comprehensive guidebook ever created.  I cannot say enough good things about it, and it gets me psyched for climbing every time I open it (also, see link below for new routes…).

The community around Adirondack Bouldering, and the guys from Weekend Bouldering have done amazing work on developing the bouldering in the ADK region, and also posting the info on what they find.  As you will find on their site(s), they are trying to get people involved with the development of a guidebook.  There is a lot of work to be done, and FA’s are going down every week in the region!  Definitely check out the blogs.

Since there are going to be so many areas in the Adirondacks, I decided to make a separate section for them.
