The Climbosexuals:

PATRICK CUMMINGS

Based out of NYC, this guy does little else with his free time other than climb. Upon graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, he began his life as a rock monkey between acting  jobs and never looked back.  ”The acting profession may be the single best job to have as a climber: you travel a lot and your days are free.” Primarily a boulderer, he has spent most of his climbing time outdoors, looking for new boulders or repeating (hopefully) awesome lines. He considers the gym “more of a place for pure training than a place to project. But sometimes, someone has set something irresistible enough to fondle.” Patrick is currently developing a huge area within an hour’s drive of the city. “It’s going to make people crap their pants.”

Nick’s paying job involves cubicles and mathematics.  The rest of his life is lived on rocks among friends.  He graduated from Clarkson University with a BS in electrical engineering, and moved to Worcester, MA for a job, where he’s been ever since.  A meandering path of different athletic interests finally led him to rock climbing, and he couldn’t stop touching them ever since. Literally. It was only after a hard fought one hour intervention with family and friends that Nick gave up his “best friend” Dave the Rock (a 7x5x6 size stone he found at his first crag). He’s since moved on and is currently obsessed with hard bouldering, but enjoys a good sport route from time to time.  He started EasternClimber.com with hopes that people might see a lifestyle they want.   “I cannot comprehend why the sport of rock climbing ever seems inaccessible to people.  Turn off the tube and get on some rocks.”
